Horrid Henry is published in several languages, but one of the most unusual is Faroese, the language spoken in the Faroe Islands. Horrid Henry is known as Herviligi Henry in Faroese. Francesca’s Farosese publishers, Bókadeildin Føroya Laerarafelag, have invited Francesca to visit the Faroe Islands in November, where she will be visiting a school, meeting her Faroese translator, Bergur Rasmussen, and meeting the people of the Faroe Islands.

  • The Faroe Islands is a country roughly halfway between Norway and Iceland.
  • The capital city, Tórshavn, is one of the world’s smallest capital cities.
  • There are no prisons or prisoners in the Faroe Islands because they are all sent to Denmark (Herviligi Henry watch out!).
  • The population of the Faroe Islands is around 48,000 people.
  • You can only find three traffic lights in Faroe Island, all in Tórshavn.
